About Alise
Alise Midtfjord heads up AI sciences at Intellectual Labs, recognized for her expertise in machine learning, data science, and innovation management, and act as a key leader and innovator of several ventures.
With a PhD in Machine Learning, from University of Oslo with ground breaking work on methodology for safety-critical applications, Alise has pioneered new methods to estimate uncertainty and improve the explainability of AI models.
Explainable AI (X-AI) allows delivery of solutions that operationalize AI with trust and confidence; speed time to AI results; and mitigate risk and costs of model governance. Alises research has led to the development of advanced algorithms, including a physics-informed neural network for time series prediction, enhancing decision making in complex fields such as environmental and finance data.
Alise is passionately interested and involved in the development, use and spread of AI. She has held a series of talks on AI and especially explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) and was named of the top 50 Women in Tech in Norway 2025.
Her background is within physics and she has earlier working experience as a technology consultant. She loves outdoor sports such as volleyball, tennis, cross-country skiing and running.
