Technical Co-Founder & Entrepreneur in Residence (AI & Deep Tech)

This is not about becoming the CTO of one startup.

You will work alongside our venture-building team across existing startups such as AMBR, Alpha Eight, BALDR, UMV and Epidetect Labs, as well as new companies we are developing.

Some days you may be working on a health-tech product. Another day you may be exploring an industrial AI opportunity, building an autonomous workflow or testing a completely new venture concept.

We are looking for someone who can take a vague problem, frame it clearly, design the right system, and turn it into something customers actually use and trust, and do it again across multiple ventures.

If you have gone from ambiguity to working product before, and you want to do it again and again with the backing of an experienced venture-building team, this is the opportunity.

This is a full-time, exclusive commitment to building alongside the studio and its portfolio of startups, from the ground up.

You will not be building alone. You will work alongside entrepreneurs, AI researchers, engineers, scientists, designers and domain experts, with the studio providing the infrastructure, network and venture-building support around you.

This is a founder-level opportunity, with meaningful equity, influence and responsibility, not a salaried executive role.

• +Take ambiguous problems and turn them into clear product concepts, technical architectures and working prototypes.
• +Build hands-on using modern development tools, frontier AI models and emerging AI technologies. If you are data science literate, fine. If not, there are others here to build with you.
• +Experiment quickly, going from idea to prototype without unnecessary complexity.
• +Explore where AI can fundamentally change a workflow, product or business model rather than simply adding an AI feature.
• +Design and build AI-native and agentic systems, including AI agents, agentic workflows, tool use, orchestration and autonomous task execution where appropriate.
• +Work with proprietary data, models and scientific knowledge where these can create a defensible advantage.
• +Sit directly in customer conversations and help translate real-world problems into technical and product solutions.
• +Test assumptions early and let customer feedback determine what gets built and what gets changed.
• +Work across multiple ventures rather than becoming locked into one technical domain.
• +Contribute to fundraising, investor conversations and technical due diligence.
• +Help recruit future technical and scientific talent as ventures mature.
• +Eventually build and lead technical teams around the companies you help create.

We are looking for an entrepreneurial builder, not simply someone with a CTO title on a resume.

You might be a founder, technical co-founder, CTO, lead engineer, AI engineer, software architect, product engineer or something else entirely.

You should ideally have:

• +A strong desire to build and own something real, rather than manage from a distance.
• +The energy and resilience to build from zero.
• +Strong hands-on software engineering and system architecture skills.
• +Experience building real products, prototypes or technical systems.
• +A strong understanding of modern AI and LLMs, and how to turn them into useful products.
• +Experience with, or strong interest in, AI agents, agentic workflows, tool calling, orchestration, autonomous systems or multi-agent architectures.
• +A good understanding of software architecture, APIs, cloud infrastructure and modern development practices.
• +Comfort with uncertainty, experimentation and changing direction when the evidence tells you to.
• +A strong customer and product mindset: you are interested in why something should be built, not only how.
• +Enjoyment in working with highly ambitious people from different disciplines.
• +Willingness to trade some short-term salary for meaningful long-term equity and ownership.

You will not be starting from a blank page.
