Entrepreneur in Residence - novel biotech startup

This is a rare chance to be there at the very beginning of a novel biotech company. The project is new and in stealth, so the details are shared in conversation. What we can say is that it targets cancer and is moving from the studio into a company of its own.

This is not about joining as an employee of an existing startup. You will shape what the company becomes: its strategy, its team, its first milestones and its path to funding.

You will not be building alone. You will work alongside the Intellectual Labs team of entrepreneurs, AI researchers, engineers, scientists, designers and domain experts, and help recruit the new people the company needs.

This is a full-time, exclusive commitment. It is a founder-level opportunity, with meaningful equity, influence and responsibility, not a salaried executive role.

• +Take the project from studio concept to an independent company, together with the scientists and the studio team.
• +Help define the strategy, the development plan and the milestones that matter to patients, partners and investors.
• +Build the founding team: help recruit scientific, clinical, technical and commercial talent as the company matures.
• +Lead fundraising: grants, angels, pre-seed and seed investors, and the conversations around technical and scientific due diligence.
• +Build relationships with clinicians, research institutions, industry partners and regulators.
• +Use the studio’s AI and engineering team where it can create a real advantage in the science and the company.
• +Test assumptions early and let evidence decide what gets built and what gets changed.
• +Eventually lead the company’s organisation as it grows.

We are looking for an entrepreneurial builder who wants to own something real in a field that matters, not simply someone with a title on a resume.

You might be a founder, a biotech or life science executive, a venture builder, a business developer from healthcare or pharma, or something else entirely.

You should ideally have:

• +A strong desire to build and own a company, rather than manage from a distance.
• +The energy and resilience to build from zero.
• +Experience from biotech, life sciences, healthcare or deep tech, or the ability to get to the heart of the science fast.
• +Experience founding, leading or scaling a company or a business unit, including fundraising.
• +Strong judgement in turning scientific ideas into a company with a clear path to value.
• +Comfort with uncertainty, experimentation and changing direction when the evidence tells you to.
• +Enjoyment in working with highly ambitious people from different disciplines.
• +Willingness to trade some short-term salary for meaningful long-term equity and ownership.
